Funeral for Belfast priest Canon Magee who lived with a bullet in his brain
The death has been announced of Canon Bernard Magee, a priest who carried a bullet in his brain since 1974 after he was shot in a sectarian attack at St Colmcille's church in east Belfast.
A titanium plate was later fitted to the top of his skull.
He also ministered to the victims of two of the Troubles' worst terrorist atrocities, the UVF's bombing of McGurk's Bar in 1971 and its 1994 Loughinisland massacre.
Canon Magee (94) died peacefully at Nazareth Care Village last Thursday.
His funeral will take place at noon today in St Malachy's Church in Castlewellan.
Burial will follow at St McCartan's Cemetery, Loughinisland.
