Funeral for little Callum Morrow (8) killed in road crash

The funeral of road crash victim Callum Morrow has taken place in Lurgan.

The eight-year-old, from Garland Avenue in the Co Armagh town, died in a two-car collision on the Aughnacloy Road outside Banbridge on Saturday evening.

His younger brother James (6) and father Stephen Brennan were also injured in the crash.

While a woman travelling in the other car was left in a critical condition in Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital.

The boy - who wanted to be a marine biologists when he grew up - was said to be a "precious part of both his class and school family," in a tribute from Carrick Primary.

While Lurgan Celtic, who Callum played underage football for, also paid its respects.

"Football pales into insignificance but the Lurgan Celtic family stand united in offering their support and condolences," the club said.

The funeral cortege left his grandparents' home for requiem mass at St Peter's Church at 10.30am. Burial was held at St Colman's Cemetery.
