Family and friends of young Belfast man Dean McIlwaine have paid their final respects at his funeral in Newtownabbey.

Dean's body was found on Saturday at Cave Hill in north Belfast during a search of the area by hundreds of volunteers. The 22-year-old man was last seen in the Carnmoney Road area of the town on Thursday, July 13.

The funeral took place at funeral Carnmoney Presbyterian Church, followed by burial at Carmoney Cemetery.

His mum Karen told the Belfast Telegraph 24 hours after his body was discovered: "I don't know how we are going on without him."

She is being supported by Mr McIlwaine's father Rod and his brother Glenn.

McCosh Funeral Directors based on Belfast's Shankill Road are covering the cost of the funeral, saying that "parents should not have to bury a son or daughter".
