Funeral held for road crash victim Kevin Barry McClintock

By Donna Deeney

A father-of-three who died in a road traffic collision at the weekend was laid to rest yesterday - just five weeks before his partner is due to give birth to their fourth child.

Hundreds of mourners attended St Joesph's Church in Londonderry for the Requiem Mass of Kevin Barry McClintock (32) to pay their final respects to a man described as a devoted father.

Mr McClintock, who was from the Galliagh area, was killed instantly when the car he was travelling in collided with another car on Saturday afternoon outside the village of Newtowncunningham in Co Donegal.

Orla O'Reilly, who was in her 30s, was also pronounced dead at the scene, while a third man remains in a critical condition in hospital.

At the Requiem Mass, Parish Priest Fr Micheal McGaughey prayed for all of the victims of the tragedy.

He told the congregation that Mr McClintock was a devoted family man who was an outdoor sports enthusiast, and that he had high hopes for his children.

Miss O'Reilly, who is originally from Cavan but was living in Muff, Co Donegal, was also laid to rest yesterday.
