Funeral of Benidorm balcony fall victim Colin McGarry to take place in Belfast on Monday

The funeral of Belfast man Colin McGarry is set to take place on Monday June 17.

The 48-year-old was on holiday in Benidorm with friends when he fell from the balcony at a hotel in the Calle Gerona area around 1.45am on June 2.

His funeral will take place at Sacred Heart Church in north Belfast on Monday at 12pm.

Mr McGarry's family have asked that only family provide flowers for the funeral. Anyone who wishes to contribute can make donations to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.

In an death notice Mr McGarry's family said that he would be "sorely missed".

He is survived by his mum Lyndia, fiancé Gail, brothers Kieran, Dennis, Aaron and sisters Lynette and Roslyn.

Originally from the Oldpark area of Belfast, Mr McGarry had been living in the Skegoneill area and worked as a scaffolder.

Just hours before his death, he had watched his favourite team Liverpool win the Champions League.

Mr McGarry's partner Gail McMillan told the Belfast Telegraph that the entire McGarry family were "completely devastated" by the news of Mr McGarry's death.
