Funeral of Diarmuid McFall to take place on Thursday

The funeral of a Co Antrim man knocked down and killed in a road traffic collision will be held on Thursday.

Diarmuid McFall, who was 28, was knocked down close to a petrol station on the Moneynick Road in Toome on Sunday. He was from the local area.

Mr McFall's funeral will take place on Thursday at 11.00am at St Oliver Plunkett's Church in Toomebridge, followed by a burial at Our Lady of Lourdes, Moneyglass.

A funeral notice read: "Beloved son of John and Maria, loving brother of Sean, Ciara (McElhone) and Dominic.

"Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.

"Deeply regretted by his father, mother, brothers, sister, sisters-in-law Seon and Gemma, brother-in-law John, nephews, nieces and extended family circle."

Meanwhile, police have issued a renewed appeal for information regarding the collision.

PSNI Inspector Julian Buchanan said: "We are appealing for witnesses and information and want to hear from anyone who may have been travelling on the road approximately 8.00 pm and 8.30pm and witnessed the incident.

"Also, if you were driving in the area you may have dash cam footage and, if you do, I would urge you to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1296 of 17/03/19."
