Funeral of father-of-one to take place

By Claire McNeilly

The family and friends of the third of three brothers who took their own lives will today say a final farewell to the "handsome, bubbly and witty young man".

Stephen Ferrin (31) was found dead at his home in north Belfast on Sunday, just days after being discharged from hospital, having gone missing earlier in the week.

In the past six years, two of Stephen's brothers, Kieran (24) and Niall (19), also died by suicide, as did his cousin Christopher, who was also 19-years-old.

Requeim Mass for the father-of-one will be held at 10am in Sacred Heart Church followed by burial in Carnmoney Cemetery.

Stephen is survived by his mother and father, sisters Danielle and Seaneen, daughter Sophie and wider family circle.

In a tribute, Mr Ferrin's parents Patricia and Eddie said earlier this week: "Stephen is a father, a brother and a son who is cherished and deeply loved and he will be sadly missed by all his friends and family."
