Funeral of father-of-three Barrie Meneely takes place in Dungannon

The funeral of a father-of-three tragically killed in a road crash has taken place in Dungannon.

Barrie Meneely, from the Hollows in Lurgan, was killed in a motorbike accident near Loughgall on Friday, March 9.

The funeral service took place at St Elizabeth's Church in Moygashel, followed by interment in Cottagequinn Cemetery.

He had been an avid supporter of Dungannon Swifts, and the club's manager Rodney McAree helped carry Barrie Meneely's coffin.

In a statement following his death, Mr McAree said: "Barrie was very highly thought of, a great lad with a tremendous wit.

"He was a very popular figure among supporters. It's a massive loss for everyone around the club, but first and foremost our thoughts are with Barrie's family.

"We have a small but loyal support base and people know each other. Barrie was the heart and soul of the club. He was a great guy to be around and we are all very, very sad at this loss."

He is survived by his wife Emma, and three children Alex, Charlotte, and Alfie.
