Gang beat man in his home

A man is recovering after being tied up and blindfolded by a gang of men before he was beaten with bats and held for hours.

Detectives are searching for the three assailants who smashed their way into a home in the Diamond Road area of Crumlin through a front window around 3am yesterday.

They tied up and blindfolded their victim, who was home alone at the time, before beating him numerous times around the head and feet with a hurley. Officers believe the men |remained in the house for over two hours, ransacking it before making their escape empty handed.

The householder was finally able to raise the alarm at around 6.30am.

He has since been taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the vicinity of the Diamond crossroads in the early hours of yesterday.
