Gang of masked men attack cars and property in Banbridge

Police are appealing for information after a gang of masked men attacked a number of vehicles and a property in Banbridge.

At around 9.30pm on Sunday evening the windows of three cars parked in Thornheights were smashed by three masked men.

A bedroom window was also broken and a man was injured during the attack.

Police believe the men escaped from the scene in a blue mini-van/ people carrier. A white VW Golf was also parked near the mini-van/ people carrier.

Police have asked the driver of the VW Golf to come forward, and believe this person may be able to help with enquiries.

In a separate incident, between 4.10am and 4.40am on Monday the living room windows of two properties in the Brookfield Avenue and Iveagh Drive areas were broken. A car parked at the property in the Iveagh Drive had all of its tyres slashed a corrosive substances poured over it.

Detective Inspector McCamley would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area to contact detectives at Lurgan on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference numbers 1167 15/04/18 and 117 and 126 16/04/18.
