Gang of up to five men attack house in Coleraine - man arrested


Two teenagers and a woman in her 40s have escaped injury after a gang of up to five men smashed windows of a house in Coleraine before forcing their way inside.

At around 1.20am on Thursday morning it was reported a group of men had attacked a house in Loughanhill Park.

The 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

Some damage was caused to the internal living room door before the men made off.

The arrested man was detained around an hour later. He remains in custody at this time assisting police with their enquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector James Mullen said: “At this time we believe as many as five males were involved in this attack and we are keen to hear from witnesses. Detectives can be contacted at the offices of Ballymena Reactive and Organised Crime on 101.”
