Geordie Gilmore murder probe police make five arrests in Carrick raids

Police have raided properties in Carrick and arrested five men over the murder of ex-UDA boss George 'Geordie' Gilmore.

The searches took place on Tuesday and the men taken to Musgrave police station for questioning.

Former UDA commander Gilmore died after being hit in the neck, torso and leg when shots were fired into his car on the Woodburn estate on March 13.

He died in hospital the following day.
