The paedophile brother of former Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams, Liam, has been moved from Maghaberry Prison and into a medical facility for end-of-life care, it has been reported.

The Irish News reports the 63-year-old is is undergoing treatment for terminal cancer.

He had been sentenced to 16 years in 2013 for abusing his daughter Aine Dahlstrom - who waived her right to anonymity - when she was just four in the late 1970s and continued until she was around nine in the early 1980s.

The paper reports Adams has served most of his time in segregation due to his profile.

It also stated his second wife and daughter have been by his side in the new facility.

The Northern Ireland Prison Service said it did not comment on individual prisoners.
