Get to know the neighbours

The residents of Connsbrook Drive have had a street party to improve community relations, and celebrate some of the longer standing residents of the street.

Afterwards, organiser Linda Logan said: “We had some great games, such as giant Jenga, tug of war, pinata, musical chairs, and a big bouncy castle for the street. The Fire Brigade came to visit, and luckily the weather changed dramatically and became sunny again.”

Linda said that the street has several long-standing residents.

“Agnes and her family have lived in the street for 37 years, Mary has lived in the street for over 40 years, and Roy has been a resident of Connsbrook Drive and the surrounding streets since 1937!

“It was a great day for building community |relations, and we got contributions from Mace and Co-op on Connsbrook Avenue, and Sunblest. Connswater Community Centre also lent us their bouncy castle, and Strand Presbyterian Church lent us tables.”
