Girl (14) hit in the face with a brick in east Belfast park

A 14-year-old girl has been hit in the face with a brick at a park in east Belfast.

Police are appealing for information following the assault in Orangefield Park, Grand Parade on Saturday.

Constable Lukasz Adamczyk said: "Police received a report that at approximately 8.30pm a 14-year-old female was hit in the face with a brick whilst she was at Orangefield playing park.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact Police at Strandtown on the non-emergency number 101.

"Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
