A 17-year-old girl has been charged with four counts of common assault, following a police investigation into anti-social behaviour in Belfast's Botanic Gardens on Thursday.

During an incident on Thursday, police said that they were called to the south Belfast park following what a PSNI spokesman has described as 'an altercation'.

Later that day, video footage emerged on Facebook of anti-social behaviour occurring in the park. Videos of the incident have received almost a million viewings since they were uploaded on Thursday.

Two people were arrested, one of them was the 17-year-old female who has since been charged.

Andrew McMenemy (25) was also arrested in connection with the Botanic Gardens incident.
