Girls Aloud Nadine’s US pub facing last orders over tax bill

It could be last orders for Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle.

Newspaper reports claim the Londonderry singer is almost $100,000 (£64,000) behind in taxes for her Irish Mist bar and restaurant in California.

And it has been claimed she also missed a crucial payment which could lead to her getting a fine of $10,000 (£6,400).

A payment was said to be due last month for the Sunset Beach, California premises of $9,144.69 (£5,833.11), but despite repeated warnings from county tax officials it remains unpaid. The reports said $18,000 (£11,500) is due for the year 2011/12 and if it isn’t paid by April 10 a fine of over $10,000 will be imposed.

A member of staff at the Orange County Treasury Department was quoted as saying the Coyle family could lose their beloved bar.

Records show no payments were made in 2010 or 2011.

“They have the option to make the payment in instalments if they can’t pay the amount in full straight away,” the tax worker said.

Nadine’s mother Lillian refused to comment.
