Glengormley X-Factor Andrea Magee will be beating her bodhran in LA

It doesn't always pay to be different but that certainly won't be the case for north Belfast's singing sensation Andrea Magee when she stands on a balcony in Los Angeles rubbing shoulders with pop legend Robbie Williams.

The Glengormley hopeful has progressed to the Judge's House's stage of the TV singing competition X-Factor after being picked for judge Sharon Osbourne's final six on Saturday's show.

The 28-year-old sealed her place on the 'Over 25's' panel with a bodhran accompanied version of the classic Ike and Tina Turner track River Deep, Mountain High at Wembley Arena.

In previous stages the four judges have complimented the former music teacher for her unique style and individuality and her use of the bodhran and the flute.

Andrea will now jet off to Los Angeles with the other contestants in the group to audition for a place in the final 12 of the live TV series.

As part of the show, judges are accompanied by a special guest to help them choose their final three and it has been announced that this year Osbourne's aide will be former Take That star Robbie Williams.

Fans have complained that coverage of Andrea has been too short after some of her performances were clipped to accommodate the show.

She tweeted: "Folks, sorry 4short snippet @XFactor bootcamp. I worked very hard on the musical arrangement of that song ... would have loved 4 u 2see more x".

At a visit home last week, the Kent based singer performed a series of gigs, including an intimate concert at Belfast Metropolitan College.
