SYDENHAM

Guest Speaker - St Brendan's Church, located on Larkfield Road, Sydenham, will welcome a guest speaker this Sunday, January 31.

Sue Gilmore from Capernwray Bible School, Lancashire, will speak at the evening service, starting at 7pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will follow the service.

Softball - Anyone interested in softball is being called now to register with the Belfast Avaitors Softball Club.

The local group is part of the Ulster Softball League and is currently the winners of the Softball Ulster League 2009.

And after a successful season the local sports club is now aiming to set up a second team called the Belfast Jets.

Registration is now open for people to join.

The teams are made up of both men and women over 18-years-of-age.

The Belfast Aviators Softball Club train at Shorts Recreation Ground, Aircraft Park, Holywood Road. Training for the new season will start at the beginning of March.

Now is your chance to join the club and be part of a new softball team for the 2010 softball season.

Cooking Tips - The Belfast East Seniors Forum will hold a cookery demonstration on Tuesday, February 2, at Inverary Community Centre, located on Inverary Avenue off the Holywood Road.

Masterchef quarter finalists Gerry Faloona will be on hand to share healthy eating tips and trade secrets.

Poetry Group - The Ballyhackamore Bards’ Poetry Group meets on the last Thursday of every month in Ballyhackamore Library at 6.45pm.

The group is facilitated by local writer and poet Dr Brenda Liddy. Admission is free. All welcome
