Gumball crowds rally round Baywatch's David 'The Hoff' Hasselhoff as race roars into Belfast

By Joanne Sweeney

David 'The Hoff' Hasselhoff called into Belfast Titanic yesterday as one of the drivers in the international Gumball 3000 car rally.

The 63-year-old actor and singer was joined by American rapper Eve and DJ Afrojack in the race which boasts a cavalcade of the world's most expensive and rare cars.

Retired Formula 1 racing drivers David Coulthard and Jean Alesi are also competing.

The Hoff was more than happy to meet and greet the hundreds who had turned up and happily posed for photographs with his fans.

But once news broke that the motoring spectacle was in town, many fans grumbled on Facebook about their disappointment of not knowing it was being held.

The rally started off in Dublin's Merrion Square on its 3,000 mile journey before heading north to Belfast and then onto Edinburgh in Scotland.

Competitors will drive through 11 countries by the time they finish in Budapest.

Channel 4 Gogglebox favourites, Leon and June Bernicoff, were also spotted down at the Titanic enjoying the family event.

The popular husband and wife also called into St George's Market during their visit.
