Hammer-wielding masked men break into home and assault occupants

The occupants of a home in Co Armagh have sustained injuries after being attacked by a pair of masked hammer-wielding intruders.

Police received a report that between 1.30am and 1.45am on Saturday morning two masked men, one armed with a hammer and the other with a chain, forced their way into the home on Wakefield Terrace, Bessbrook and assaulted the three male occupants.

The men in the house sustained cuts and bruising as a result of the incident.

Police have described the first intruder as being around 5'6'' tall, wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a dark coloured hooded top, and a scarf covering his face.

The second intruder was around 5'10'' tall, with dark-coloured bottoms, a black hooded top and a scarf covering his face.

Detective Sergeant Niall Bell has appealed to anyone who noticed anyone matching these descriptions in the area, or who has any information which could assist police with their enquiries, to contact detectives at Ardmore on 101 quoting reference number 164 28/04/18.
