Hauliers barred for illegal fuel
Licences for three goods transport companies have been cancelled following the use of laundered or rebated fuel.
Permits for Padraig Daly, of PD Refrigerated in Dungannon, Kevin Johnston of Johnston Tipper Services in Ballyronan, and Wadsworth Bethel, of Banbridge, were revoked.
A DoE spokesman said: "Given the gravity of such behaviour and its impact on road safety and fair competition, it was fair and proper to revoke the licence to operate in each individual case."
The owners were disqualified for between three and five years.
Environment Minister Mark H Durkan said: "These decisions reinforce the clear message to any operator, tempted to indulge in wrong practices, including the illegal use of fuel, to think again."
