Have a go at volunteering

Have-a-go volunteering is descending upon the over 60s in spectacular form this summer.

Volunteer Now has teamed up with the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum in Cultra, Holywood, and is calling on people of senior citizen age to come along on Wednesday August 18 and try their hand at volunteering at the venue.

Wendy Osborne, chief executive officer of Volunteer Now, hopes that over 60s will embrace this opportunity to have a great day out. “As well as being a chance to get out in the fresh air and meet new people, it might just be the reason you need to make volunteering a more permanent part of your life.” she said.

The free taster day will run from 10am-2pm. As well as getting involved in reminiscing and conservation activities, volunteers can have a look around the museum in the afternoon.
