Have you become a lotto millionaire and don't know it?

It could be you... if there is a EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle ticket dated December 23 in your purse or wallet now is the time to dig it out, as five lottery players from across the UK remain oblivious to their good fortune.

So far 20 of the 25 millionaires created in the special festive draw have come forward to claim their life-changing sum.

Now the team at National Lottery headquarters is on the hunt for the remaining five who could be starting off 2012 in style.

A National Lottery spokesman said: "The 20 EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle ticket holders are ready to toast the New Year with plenty of champagne and can look forward to a fantastic 2012, but there are five other ticket holders who could also be starting January with a bang.

"We urge all EuroMillions players to check their tickets.

"Anyone who believes they have a winning ticket should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000."

He added: "In addition to creating so many overnight millionaires, this special draw has helped contribute to the £30m raised for good causes by the National Lottery every week."

Judy and Frank Whitmore from north Yorkshire claimed their £1m yesterday.

They had kept the winning ticket in a "sacred" antique teapot in the kitchen after discovering they were winners on Christmas Eve.

Mrs Whitmore (62) explained the family decided against any last-minute shopping sprees despite the incredible windfall. She said: "We just wandered down the river with great big smiles on our faces, and occasionally laughing."

Two lucky ticket holders shared £7.6m in the Christmas Eve lotto draw and one lucky ticket holder banked £2.1m in Wednesday's Lotto draw.

The National Lottery has now created more than 2,750 millionaires since its launch in 1994.

A record 229 millionaires were created in the last 12 months and the biggest-ever jackpot prize of £161m was won by Colin and Chris Weir in July.

A total of 50 millionaires were made in the month leading up to Christmas 2011, including the publicity-shy 'Mr T' from Belfast who scooped a cool £1m on November 25.
