Hazem Ahmed Ghreir murder: Man, 18, due in court after fatal Belfast stabbing
An 18-year-old is due in court in Belfast on Wednesday morning charged with the murder of Hazem Ahmed Ghreir who died following a stabbing on Sunday.
Hazem, who was in his 30s, was from Syria but had been living in the Carrickfergus area.
The 18-year-old was arrested following the stabbing in the Downshire Place area of Belfast. He was found at around 10.45pm and died in the Royal Victoria Hospital.
Paula Bradshaw, Alliance candidate for South Belfast, said: "I offer my sincere condolences to the loved ones of the man who died.
"This was a shocking event - violence has no place in our society and I would urge anyone who was in the area to contact the police with information immediately."
