Several homes in Craigavon in Co Armagh have been evacuated following the discovery of a suspicious object.

The object was discovered in the Pinebank area of the town on Sunday morning.

Police are in attendance and a section of Pinebank has been closed to traffic.

A PSNI spokesman said: “Police would urge members of the public to remain vigilant and if they come across anything suspicious, or that looks out of the ordinary, not to touch it and to report it to police immediately on 101.

“There are no further details available at this time.”
