Horse put down after hit-and-run incident in Co Antrim
A horse has been put down after a hit-and-run incident in a Co Antrim village.
The crash happened on Monday at around 9.30pm on the Tornagrough Road.
The driver fled the scene and the horse was put to sleep due to the extent of its injuries.
Writing on the PSNI Lisburn Facebook page, a police spokesperson said: "At this time you are reminded of your obligation to stop, remain and report all road traffic collisions to police. Failure to do so may render you liable to prosecution."
Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident, or who own the horse, to come forward and contact them on the non-emergency number 101, giving the reference number 1384 with the date 13/03/2018.
