Housing Executive rejects landlord criticism
The Housing Executive has hit back after a survey suggested that social housing tenants in Northern Ireland are more dissatisfied with their landlords than anywhere else in the UK outside London.
The Big Tenant Survey indicated that fewer than a quarter of tenants (23%) here said they would recommend their landlord to a friend or relative.
Only 17% believe their landlord cares about them and their family, while just a third (34%) are satisfied with their landlord, according to the new poll.
However, the Housing Executive said it did not recognise the findings, as it continuously surveys tenants in its 88,000 homes.
"Our most recent survey indicates a very high proportion of our tenants, 89%, are satisfied with our overall service, 87% are satisfied with the quality of their home, 85% are satisfied with the general condition of their property and 94% were satisfied with their neighbourhood as a place to live," a spokesman said.
