By Staff Reporter

Police are hunting a man "with a hunched appearance" after a robbery at a shop in north Belfast yesterday.

At approximately 8am, a staff member exited from a back door when a man pushed them back into the offices of the shop.

Two staff members - a man aged in his 20s and a woman aged in her 30s - were tied up by the robber.

A sum of money was stolen from the business in a centre in Cityside, previously known as Yorkgate.

The two staff members were not injured in the incident.

A PSNI spokesman said: "The man is described as being aged in his 40s, about 5ft 9ins tall, of average build and with a hunched appearance.

"He was wearing a cap, a dark jacket and jeans.

Detective Inspector Mary White added: "I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 256 of 09/08/16.

"Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
