Ian Paisley honoured by US Consul General in Belfast
Ian Paisley has been recognised for his work on promoting US-Northern Ireland relations.
The US Consul General in Belfast Elizabeth Trudeau Kennedy presented Mr Paisley with an official flag from Capitol Hill in Washington.
The flag flew from the Capitol building earlier this year to recognise the North Antrim MP for the work he has done to improve relations with the US.
The citation reads: "This is to certify that this flag of the United States of America was flown over the US Capital on May 17 2019 at the request of Congress for Ian Paisley Jr MP."
Ms Trudeau Kennedy presented Mr Paisley with the flag at her office in Belfast.
Mr Paisley said: "I am greatly honoured and delighted to receive this personal honour on behalf of my constituents.
"People know of my support and friendship with the President of the USA and of my desire to see our countries improve trade relations."
