It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Papa Guido. He passed away peacefully in Coleraine hospital yesterday.— Morelli's Ice Cream (@Morelli_1911) June 28, 2016
Paying tribute his family said Guido was at the helm of the family business and continued to work tirelessly.
"He worked tirelessly and came into the office every day, taking charge of developing new recipes. The business has created hundreds of ice cream flavours over the years under Guido’s guidance, with mint chocolate chip being his favourite."
Guido’s daughter Daniela Morelli said: “Dad was a much-loved and loving husband, father, nonno, bis nonno and friend to all who knew him. He always had a smile on his face and brought so much joy to everyone at the company and our incredible customers.
"We will miss him but our wonderful memories will keep him alive in our hearts.”
