We caught up with some students who had just received their results.

CIARAN PURDY (16)

JACK McLAUGHLIN (17)

FOYLE AND LONDONDERRY COLLEGE

I was not expecting to do as well as I did. I think I might go on somewhere else to continue my education but overall I think I did pretty well.

JACK GREENE (16)

ROYAL BELFAST ACADEMICAL INSTITUTION

RESULTS: 8A*,3A

I am overjoyed, speechless and my parents are really pleased with me. I had been a bit tense leading up to today so I am thankful the way things turned out.

JULIE CHANDLER (16)

HAZELWOOD INTEGRATED COLLEGE, NEWTOWNABBEY

RESULTS: 1A*,2A,3B,4C

I cried with my mum when I got my results, I am delighted. I thought I was going to fail business studies but got a C. I am now going to do drama, photography and media studies at A-Level.

LAURA McCOWAN (17)

BALLYCLARE HIGH SCHOOL

RESULTS: 8A*,2A,1B

I am so happy and I think I'm in a little bit of shock, although I thought I might have done better in English literature. I will now come back for A-Levels in biology, chemistry, PE and maths and hope to go to university and study something like medicine or PE.

GARY SINGH (17)

ST PATRICK'S COLLEGE BEARNAGEEHA, BELFAST

RESULTS: 6C

I am really happy with what I got but I want to get maths re-marked. I thought I would have got a B in French and I now will do A-Level business studies and ICT. In the future, I would like to have my own business, possibly a shop.

SARAH BYRNE (16)

ST CECILIA'S COLLEGE, DERRY

RESULTS: 2As, 6Bs, 3Cs

I think it is just fantastic. I wasn't sure how I had done so I am really glad I passed. I didn't think I had done well in my two English exams but I got them both.

SAM STRONGE (16)

ROYAL BELFAST ACADEMICAL INSTITUTION

RESULTS: 6A*, 5A

I am overwhelmed, in disbelief. I worked hard and I did a lot better than expected in further maths. I will now do A-Levels and law could be a likely career path.

AMY JOHNSTON (16)

HAZELWOOD INTEGRATED COLLEGE, NEWTOWNABBEY

RESULTS: 2A*,1B, 8C

I am unbelievably proud of myself. I put in a lot of work and had no social life for four months. I will now do A-Levels and I am thinking of a career in social work.

PATRICK BARRETT (16)

ST PATRICK'S COLLEGE BEARNAGEEHA, BELFAST

RESULTS: 1A*, 3A, 3B,1C

I was pleased with that as I put in a lot of effort and I maybe could have pulled the C up to a B. But I will do science and history at A-Level and after that, would like to go to Queen's and do zoology and maybe work in that field.

LYDIA MILLS (16)

BALLYCLARE HIGH SCHOOL

RESULTS: 8A*,1A,1B

I am really pleased. I do a lot of athletics training and had to manage my time wisely but I am disappointed at getting a B in English. I now want to do A-Levels in biology, chemistry, physics and maths and would like to do medicine, dentistry or sports at university.

PETER WATSON (16)

ROYAL BELFAST ACADEMICAL INSTITUTION

RESULTS: 5A*, 6A,1B
