In Pictures: Ardglass Golf Club celebrations tee off

Dermot Curran, Chairman of Down District Council recently hosted a civic reception at Ardglass Golf Club to commend the tremendous achievement of the Club in being named Irish Golf Tour Operators Association (IGTOA) Links Golf Course of the Year 2011.

The event also marked the opening of an Exhibition of Paintings “Open Champions” by Mark Robinson from Hanna Fine Arts in Belfast which includes portraits of Fred Daly, Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy & Darren Clarke. This specially-commissioned collection of stunning paintings by Mark Robinson is a fitting celebration of the magnificent achievements of our Northern Ireland’s own Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy, Darren Clarke and Fred Daly and represents a permanent tribute to their historic and remarkable victories, which has brought so much goodwill and positive publicity to local golf courses.

Ardglass, who’s Clubhouse is acknowledged as the oldest in the world, is now ranked among the top courses on the island of Ireland and indeed across the world.
