In support of PIPS

A local charity has benefited from a special fundraiser at the Belfast Business Awards this year.

The PIPS (Public Initiative for the Prevention of Suicide) project picked up a cheque of £1,360 donated by the businessmen and women and sponsors attending the Belfast Business ‘Oscars’ in the City Hall in the spring.

Councillor Conor Maskey, of the city council’s development committee, said: “I am proud to present this cheque to PIPS who work so tirelessly at raising awareness of the issues of suicide and self-harm across Belfast. I would like to thank all those who attended the Belfast Business Awards and donated to such a worthy cause.”

PIPS Co-ordinator Jo Murphy said: “The money raised will go into much needed services for families affected by suicide and those in crisis.”
