Indian takeaway is fined
The owner of an Indiantakeaway in Glengormley has been fined £200for breaching food safety legislation.
Old Hamads, on Portland Avenue, Glengormley, was visited by health officers from Newtownabbey Borough Councilon January 9 last year, and several problems with food safety management were discovered.
Sauces were not being stored at the correct temperature, chicken pieces varied in size running a risk of undercooking and necessary food safety documentation was not maintained.
The owner, Mr Aydin Avci, pleaded guilty to a charge under Food Safety Legislation when he appeared at Laganside Magistrates Court on February 23. He was also ordered to pay costs of £107.
