No major golf tournament would be complete without the WAGS to inject some glamour to the green.

Leading the local pack will be Alison Clarke, Darren Clarke's bride of three months. The former beauty queen and model married the 2011 Open Championship winner in a beach wedding in the Bahamas in April after being set up on a blind date by fellow golf champ Graeme McDowell.

Alison was at Darren's side last year when he won the Open and he credited her with helping him put his life back on track, following the death of his first wife Heather from cancer.

Also expected to attend is Padraig Harrington's wife Caroline, whom he met at a junior golf match. The couple married in 1997 and she has often been pictured with him at golfing tournaments.

It is also believed Graeme McDowell's American girlfriend Kristin Stape will fly in from the US to support her partner. The dark-haired interior designer tends to keep a low profile but was photographed along with McDowell at the Clarke's beach wedding.

One WAG not expected to be there is Rory McIlroy's girlfriend, Caroline Wozniacki. The Danish tennis star is playing at Wimbledon and is unlikely to attend the event.

Former Miss Northern Ireland Finola Guinnane and current Miss Northern Ireland Tiffany Brien will be working on the hospitality side of the event, looking after VIP guests. And Belfast model and presenter Katie Larmour is also understood to be going along to the Irish Open, with her amateur golfer boyfriend Harry Diamond.

Harry, a close friend of Rory McIlroy's, recently celebrated his own personal triumph after claiming his first GUI Major title by winning the Radisson Blu West of Ireland final.
