Robert (60) and Maura (60) McDermott from Carryduff

"It is all great fun, we have taken a walk around the ships and are planning a boat trip around the lough to see them all from the water. We are determined to see round them all."

Raymond (47) and son Christopher (17) Kane, Jordanstown

"They are great, it is fantastic to see Belfast like this. Usually you don't see many ships in the lough and now it is full. Brilliant. Last time we watched the ships coming up the lough from Bangor. We are hoping to see around all of the ships."

Helen McKelvey (69) and her grandson Archie McClure (3) from Belfast

"It is all very impressive seeing so many magnificent ships and the event has a great atmosphere. The weather is great, what's not to enjoy. Archie is really loving it."

Des Butler (64) from Co Meath

"I have seen the Tall Ships all over the UK and Ireland, this is my second time seeing them in Belfast. I'm not sure why I have such a fascination with them, I just love looking at them. My grandfather was in the British Merchant Navy so maybe it is in the genes."

Stephen (45) and Fionnuala (40) Black from Belfast and their children Adam (13), Hannah (11) and Rebecca (8).

"It has been fantastic, our son Adam turns 13 on Saturday and this is part of his birthday treat, but all the kids are loving it and we are delighted that one of the ships is wheelchair accessible this time. It means so much that Hannah can get on one of them and have a look around."
