James McClean winds up Rangers fans on Twitter

By Staff Reporter

Controversial footballer James McClean is stirring things up on Twitter - again.

The Derry-born Republic of Ireland player took to social media to taunt Rangers fans about their team being left out of the latest edition of the Fifa 16 game.

"Was looking to play an old firm in #fifa16 but i cant find rangers? Anyone know if there in it? #confused" wrote McClean, whose Twitter comments have landed him in trouble in the past.

Earlier this year, the West Brom midfielder used the site to enter the Derry/Londonderry name change row and, while at Sunderland, he was banned from social media after causing a sectarian row when he tweeted his love for rebel song The Broad Black Brimmer by The Wolfe Tones.

The 26-year-old, who played for Northern Ireland at youth level, has been jeered at virtually every Premier League game this season after refusing to recognise the Cross of St George prior to a pre-season friendly.
