Jesus Christ Superstar and Voice contestant Jeff Anderson 'too ill' to face court on sex charges
A former contestant on The Voice who faces a string of sex charges is unwell, a lawyer has told a court.
Jeff Anderson, 25, from Co Down, has been charged with 15 offences but failed to appear in court on Tuesday. His solicitor said he was ill.
The charges include possession of indecent photographs, voyeurism and indecent assault on a female, covering an eight-year period between 2005 and 2013.
The accused, from Crawfordsburn Road in Newtownards, had been due to appear at the town's courthouse.
A prosecution lawyer asked for the case to be adjourned for eight weeks.
The magistrate said: "It is early days in this case."
The next hearing is due on May 3.
Anderson sang in Andrew Lloyd Webber's ITV show Jesus Christ Superstar.
As the show's youngest contestant, he earned himself the nickname "Baby Jesus".
While he didn't win the part of Jesus, he went on to be chosen as the understudy and toured the UK with the production.
In 2014 he appeared on The Voice in front of Will.i.am and Tom Jones.
