Joanne Bunting's court case adjourned

The case against East Belfast MLA and policing board member Joanne Bunting was adjourned for three months yesterday.

Bunting (46) faces four charges at Newtownards Magistrates Court - careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and that following an accident which caused an injury to another person, she failed to stop, remain and report her details to the police within a reasonable time, all alleged to have been committed following an incident in the town on March 3 this year.

When she was initially charged last month, defence solicitor Keith Gamble told the court that all the offences were denied and on Friday, District Judge Mark Hamill adjourned the case to December 8 "to fix a date" for the contest.
