Jogger killed in Co Antrim car crash

A 68-year-old male jogger has died in a car crash in Carrickfergus.

The collision occurred at around 11.30am on Friday morning, on Red Brae Road.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and are particularly keen to hear from the female driver of a silver vehicle that was travelling directly in front of the silver Peugeot 207 involved in the collision.

It's believed the vehicle, which also contained a child, stopped at the scene of the collision but left prior to the arrival of police and travelled on towards Carrick.

Police can be contacted by calling 0845 600 8000.

The Red Brae Road remains closed at its junctions with Middle Road and Liberty Road.
