John Boreland funeral: Andre Shoukri among mourners at Belfast service for murdered loyalist
The funeral of murdered UDA man John Boreland has taken place in Belfast.
Senior loyalist figures, including Andre Shoukri, were among mourners at the service.
The funeral service took place at the Moravian Church on the Oldpark Road at 9am, followed by interment at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr Boreland was gunned down last Sunday outside his Sunningdale Gardens home by an unknown shotgun-wielding assailant.
A family memorial notice placed in the Belfast Telegraph this week read: "Sadly missed and lovingly remembered. Goodnight, wonderful son, God bless. Free at last. Forever in our hearts"
Police investigations into the murder are continuing.
A 42 year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of Mr Boreland was released unconditionally.
Police have also carried out two separate searches in north Belfast on Saturday morning in connection with the shooting.
A car was seized by police during one of the searches and has been removed for further examination.
