Just Born: Little Isla welcomes her baby brother with kisses

Kate and James Scott from Lisburn are celebrating the birth of a son. Isaac James Scott weighed 7lbs 7oz and measured 50cms when he was born at the Lagan Valley Hospital's midwife-led unit on July 29 at 4.11am.

Speech therapist Kate (33) and James (35), a software developer, chose not to discover in advance if they were having a boy or girl.

"We waited to find out," Kate said.

"My pregnancy felt different, I had an idea but you never know.

"It is nice to have one of each."

Isaac's big sister Isla (3) is enjoying the new addition to the family.

"She is very good with him," Kate said.

"She is very gentle, nearly killing him with kindness!"

Kate praised the team at Lagan Valley for the high standard of care provided.

"They were fantastic," she said.

"It was a brilliant experience. I would definitely recommend them to anyone with a straightforward pregnancy."

Little Issac is now a month old and doing well.

"He's very good," Kate said.

"He looks like his daddy.

"He's gaining weight, eating and sleeping well, so I can't complain."
