Just Married - Catherine Bannon and Eoghan Duffy

Catherine Bannon and Eoghan Duffy are enjoying family life in China with their son Aodhan following the summer wedding of their dreams in Dublin.

Catherine (34) is from Belfast, Dublin and "a few places in between", as her parents are from Belfast and she spent her childhood in a variety of countries.

When she was aged 12 the Bannon family moved to Dublin where her new husband Eoghan (30) is from. "We met in 2006 doing our Masters degree and became very good friends," Catherine said.

"A few years later I was living in Singapore, Eoghan was living in Dublin and we went on holiday together in China, so I guess our first date was about three weeks long."

The couple, who both work for the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin, fell in love, and got engaged over a homemade Champagne breakfast one Saturday morning.

Their wedding day was Saturday, June 22. "The service was in Trinity College Dublin where we both studied," Catherine said.

"We were very lucky to have the opportunity to be able to get married in such beautiful and historic surroundings."

The Bannon-Duffy reception took place in the Royal College of Physicians on Kildare Street, Dublin.

"It was flawless," Catherine said.

"Mary Rose McGrath designed the perfect wedding dress for me and Karina Finegan took some really super photos of us all.

"Our first dance was to Into The Mystic by Van Morrison," she added.

Following their big day the couple headed on honeymoon with their one-year-old son Aodhan.

"We went on a road trip taking in Cork, Galway, Cornwall and Normandy with Aodhan," Catherine said.

"It didn't make sense to go too far afield when we were moving to China straight after the honeymoon."

The young family has settled into their new home in Shanghai and Catherine and Eoghan are enjoying married life.

"It's been a lot of fun so far," Catherine added.
