Karen Bradley to address Northern Ireland business leaders in Commons
The House of Commons will again host senior business and civil society figures from Northern Ireland today.
They have travelled to Westminster to discuss with MPs the Brexit deal, which has been backed by many leading business and industry bodies.
Organisations attending the event in the House of Commons will include Manufacturing NI, Foyle Port, Londonderry Chamber, NI Mineral Products Association, Airporter, NI Retail Consortium, CBI and the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action.
Northern Ireland Secretary Karen Bradley MP - who was appointed a year ago yesterday - will speak to the organisations in the Commons, with MPs from all parties invited to the event.
The Secretary of State said before the meeting: "Northern Ireland's business community and civil society organisations have been consistently clear. The deal on the table is in the best interests of Northern Ireland and will protect vital jobs and investment."
Mrs Bradley said she held a similar event in December "and the feedback from colleagues was incredibly positive".
"It is so important that MPs hear directly from the people and businesses I meet on a regular basis in Northern Ireland. As Secretary of State, I want to ensure that a wide-range of Northern Ireland society feel their voice is heard in Westminster, especially those who would feel the impact of no deal most keenly."
