Kevin McGuigan murder: Man arrested in east Belfast - twelfth arrest in investigation

Detectives investigating the murder of Kevin McGuigan have arrested a 41-year-old man in east Belfast.

The 53-year-old father-of-nine was shot dead in the Short Strand at his home  in Comber Court on Wednesday August 12.

The 41-year-old's arrest is the 12th in the murder investigation into the killing of the former IRA member.

Detective Chief Inspector John McVea said: "The suspect has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim Police Station for questioning."

Update: The 41-year-old man arrested on Wednesday, 2 September by Detectives from Serious Crime Branch investigating the murder of Kevin McGuigan has been released unconditionally.
