A young man has died and another remains seriously injured after a motorcycle and lorry crashed, police said.

The incident happened on Agivey Road in Aghadowey - near Coleraine - at around 5pm on Saturday evening.

Police say a 19-year-old man from nearby Kilrea has died as a result of the collision.

Another man taken to hospital for treatment is believed to be in a serious condition. Inspector Ian Armour appealed to anyone travelling on Agivey Road around the time of the incident to get in touch.

Police said the man who died was the pillion passenger on the motorcycle.

The seriously injured man was riding the bike.
