Kitten thrown from car in Co Antrim lands on its feet

A three-week-old kitten, thrown from a moving car in Ballycastle, has landed on its feet and found a new home.

After the tiny animal - too young to be separated from her mother - was hurled from the car, the vehicle behind stopped to rescue it and take it to the Co Antrim town's police station.

The kitten was, fortunately, found to be in good health and one of the officers who it was brought to has taken it in.

The driver of the vehicle who stopped was unable to get details of the car it was thrown from, but police have appealed for information.

When the police in Ballycastle put the story on their Facebook page, there was a wave of revulsion over the incident.

Officers asked the many thousands who responded to suggest a name for the plucky puss.

Lucky, looked to be the outright winner.
