Lice zapped after infestation at Belfast police station

Police have said the custody suite at Musgrave Street PSNI Station is now fully operational after a lice infestation after a deep clean.

A number of cells at the recently refurbished station had to be closed due to an infestation this week.

Fumigators were called in on Tuesday morning to deal with the pest infestation at the city's largest custody suite and police used facilities at Bangor, Armagh and Antrim while the closure was in place.

On Wednesday morning the PSNI said the deep clean had taken place and the cells reopen for suspected criminals.

There are 50 custody cells at Musgrave station.
