Limvady man barred from harassing his mum and brother
A Limvady man has had a restraining order imposed on him forbidding him from harassing or intimidating his mother or brother.
Brian McDonald (25), of Drummond Park in the Co Londonderry town, appeared in court yesterday charged with assaulting his brother and mother on February 4. The court heard that police were called to an address after reports of an ongoing disturbance.
When they arrived McDonald's brother said that the defendant had assaulted him and his mother.
He told police they had been having a discussion about the defendant's probation when McDonald struck him.
When his mother approached he pushed her, the court heard.
District Judge Liam McNally said they were "serious assaults" and sentenced McDonald to three months in prison, suspended for two years, and imposed the restraining order.
